The information described here is held by Sypher Edge LLC, a limited liability company registered in the State of Georgia, United States, which runs My1on1.
To ask what we hold about you, to have it sent to you, or to have it deleted: email support@my1on1.com, or use “Something not working?” on your lessons page.
About you, the teacher
- Your email address, so you can sign in.
- Your name, and what you would like students to call you.
- When you agreed to our terms, and which version you agreed to.
- If another teacher invited you: their name, and when they did it.
- How many teachers you can still invite, if any.
- If you invite another teacher, we put your name in their invitation, so they can see who it came from.
We do not hold your date of birth, your address, your bank details or your identity documents. If you take payments, Stripe holds those and we cannot see them.
About a child
- Their first name.
- The days and times of their lessons.
- The time zone they are in, so a lesson shows at the right hour.
- Which subject a lesson is, if their teacher teaches more than one.
- Whether a lesson is online or in person — never where.
- An unguessable link that opens their lesson.
- A link their teacher may add to notes or homework they keep somewhere else. We store the address, never what is behind it.
Nothing else. No surname is required, no address, no date of birth, no school, and no schoolwork or notes written here.
A child never has an account and never has a password. The link is the whole of it.
About a parent or guardian
- Their name and email address, so their child’s teacher can reach them.
- Their phone number, if the teacher adds one.
- How they are related to the child — mother, father, grandparent, and so on.
- The name their teacher gave the family, which is often a surname. The child’s own surname is never asked for, but a family called “The Carters” carries one all the same.
What is never kept
No video. No sound. No transcript. No copy of the whiteboard. A lesson happens and then it is gone. Nobody at My1on1 can watch a lesson, live or afterwards, because there is nothing to watch.
Money
If a teacher takes payments, Stripe handles them. Card details and bank details are typed on Stripe’s own page and never touch this site. We can see that a bill was paid and what it cost to take the payment. We cannot see a card number.
The companies that touch it
- Supabase — stores the teacher’s roster, and writes the sign-in emails.
- Cloudflare — serves the website, and delivers the emails we send you.
- Daily — carries the video and sound during a lesson, including a parent’s if they sit in.
- Fly.io — carries the whiteboard between the two screens.
- Google Workspace — keeps our copy of messages the app sends on a teacher’s behalf, so there is a record of what was said. A child’s lesson link is never copied there.
- Stripe — takes payments, if a teacher uses them.
- Your teacher’s own calendar — Apple, Google or Outlook, if they choose to keep the lessons there. It would show your child’s first name and the time of the lesson. Your child’s lesson link is never sent there.
Each of them sees only what it needs to do its job. None of them is sent a list of children, and none of them is paid for data.
Who can see what
- A teacher sees only their own families and students.
- A parent sees only their own child.
- A child sees only their own lesson.
Getting it removed
A teacher can remove a student or a family at any time, and everything belonging to them goes with it, including their lesson room.
